Should I ditch the blog?

I've been working on a small blog for fantasy book reviews and tonight I added a forum since I have an unused liscence.

I'm wondering if I would be better off getting rid of the blog and adding in something like GARS? Its a big change in format and direction for a little site.

I'm actually getting 200 - 300 uniques a month which is pretty impressive since I haven't advertised this at all. It would be great to convert that into members but at the same time I'm not keen on loosing it by loosing the blog in favor of an article management script.

What are your thoughts?

I am not 100% on this John, but I think I would stick with the blog. A blog / forum combo can work, and in your case it may be best. Having links to the forum at the bottom of each post and in the sidebar will obviously help too.

I agree with Lee, I used to run a forum and added a blog to it. It got a lot of popularity and many members liked it because they could see the important worldwide news straight from one page instead of browsing around the forum. (That is assuming you post important news [general news as well] in your blog).

Though I'm relatively new on this you might also consider the option of a content system like CMPS v2.1.0 from vBadvanced. That way you can imitate the Blog thing using news posts for example and have a direct link with the forums.

So far, this works for us but again I'm by no means a expert on this.
