PC101 got hacked...

today! Our first hacking! LOL The only way I can be amused by this at all is due to the fact they only hosed my home/index page. However, the site was down for a few hours. I think it was some bozo who just wanted to pimp his favorite soccer team.

I had saved a copy of the HACKED homepage but it appears my hosting company snatched it away from the trash. I should have taken a screen print of it.

Is there a way I can prevent this? Or is it all up to my hosting company?

Hacking is one of perils of forums, almost impossible to stop, best advie use good software like vBulletin. (if you dont already)
Other than that, really is nothing you can do, except be paranoid and sit up allnight waiting to catch the $^£3&£....or you can go to RedMatrixs forums, plan revenge

I wish you the best of luck with the issue. You said that it appears that they only hacked the index, correct?

You are correct Sir.

Everyone was still on the forums... posting back and forth on how annoying it was but you couldn't go to the index page... that's where all the silliness (e.g. "F*ck Bolivia") was to be found.

I guess as far ask hackings go... we got off lucky.

Hacking your weak ass server... Priceless.

Then there was a whole bunch of text in either Portugese or Spanish. That's why I saved it so I could translate it later. If my hosting company sends me a copy of the hacked index I'll post it fo y'all to see.

The hacker's "name" was Overlord... which sounds familar.

There was a picture of some soccer team but I didn't bother to see which team they were.
