I was looking to add some good old florida fight music to my webpage. I went to http://fightmusic.com and downloaded a florida song. But if I redistribute that on my site would it be in violation of copyright? The owner of fightmusic.com doesn't own the rights to the song i downloaded. Does the school own the rights?

I guess I'm just askin if I put a few gator songs on my webpage, and i downloaded them from fightmusic.com, is that ok? Or would I have to acknowledge that I got them from him webpage? I'm not trying to sell the songs, just want some of my readers to hear it :-)

I know this isn't a legal forum, but didn't know where else to put it.

I'm 90% sure you are fine in this situation.

The songs are not copyrighted, they are free to download, and nowhere does he say that you cannot redistribute them.

But, what I would suggest is that you email him - http://fightmusic.com/college-email.html

Just ask him if it would be ok if you redistributed them. A lot of times people will let you do so just because you were kind enough to ask permission beforehand.
