| How often do you get Spammers. How often do you get spammers? With the help of vBulletin, and its MOD's, i have reduced the number to about 1 a month. (its only the die hard desperate people now, no bots)

Join Date: Oct 2006 Posts: 186 | I don't get them at officiallost, but it's pretty slow. At iwebtool, we get them once or twice every day. I have to go there pretty often to make sure that there aren't any more spam posts. I find myself going there about 25-30 times a day, just trying to keep ahead of the spammers. Usually I get them before anyone else sees them, but this morning, a porno spammer left a nasty picture that was there for a while, and it was viewed 5 times. It sucks when that happens. The porno ones are the most frustrating, because we have several members that are 13 or 14 years of age. | ||||

| Prior to upgrading to vB 3.6 I used to get anywhere from 5-15 per week. Sometimes it was quite a bit and almost all (from what I could tell) were bots. After I upgraded I now maybe get one per month, if that! Jelsoft definitely made some nice improvements with the latest version of vB.

| None. We have top spam prevention. Usually at least a moderator is on at all tim es so no spammer can spam our forum. We have banned certain email addresses, the ones that usually have spammers attached to them. And our IP banning works perfectly fine. We never get spammed. | ||||

Oh and phpbb is well known for being bot-friendly. I don't really know if there's anything you can do about it. Have you checked their mods section? ~Crystal
