| Groupie | bandwidth question Hi all I have a question lately my bandwidth has jumped at first I thought it was hot linkers since I found a few sites who where hot linking to my site but I have since blocked them with htacess. I was hoping that stoping them would make a difference in my bandwidth but it did not go down at all but is still goung up. Also I optimized all my images and all my downloads are in zips. I don't have forums for my site just a website with downloads. My site is Enchanted Forest the bandwidth we are using is 159.87 Gigs a mth and every mth its rising. I use twatch for my stats if you need to look at that. Website Statistics - Enchanted Forest What do you think? Is my site using to much bandwidth? Thanks

| Groupie | I have enough bandwidth my mth limet is 3500.0 GBs my concern is for the size of my site should I be using that much bandwidth? I have read that somtimes increase in bandwidth is a sign of hacking or bad bots. How can I tell if my site is using the correct amount of bandwidth for its size and traffic that I get? Seems latley there has been a lot of bots and slurps on my site should I be worried about them? I am pretty sure they are bad bots.

If you do have this installed, pull it up, and click on one of the months to pulled up detailed stats for that month. Then find the section for "top URL's" and see if anything stands out there.

| Groupie | it does not show much how do I get details? My host offers two webalizer Usage Statistics for efsims2.com - Last 12 Months and Modlogan Statistics and both give different results. I found Twatch wich is free and I have been using that stats for a few mths it gives more detail but again the results are different then webalizer and modlogan. Also the twatch does not track bandwidth.Edit - ok I figured out how to view the details duh feel silly now LOL but still why are the results different for each one? For June is shows modlogan hits at 7029083 visits 44078 bandwidth 168008995kb = 160.22586GB for Webalizer is shows hits 7029361 visits 33227 bandwidth 168009385kb = 160.22624GB for the Twatch is shows 24736 Unique Visitors Is the visits for modlogan and webalizer for uniques vistors?

If this is a problem, I would either remove the files or restrict them to members only.

| Groupie | I edited my post while you where posting. LOL How did you figure out that the files where the culprit I would like to learn how to figure it out for myself. If all that bandwidth is from guest downloading my files then I am ok with it. My concern is if bots or hackers where effecting my bandwidth.
