Malware Pop Ups

A select few of my members (including one Mac user and a few Firefox users) have had a malware popup get on their computer. It's not everyone, and it's not all happening on one particular page. We've given them all the info we can find about what it is, where they come from, what they do and how to get rid of them on your own computer, but we want it off the actual site.

So outside of blocking any and all non-commercial/manufacturer images from the site entirely, is there a way to remove the offending pop up from our site? Will just blocking/censoring the URL that it redirects to help?

Tell them to run a spyware scan. Are you running any advertisements on your computer by any chance?

I've had similar problems with ad banners from tier 3 cpm networks, especially those that use the yieldmanager platform. Repeatedly malware popups came through those banners, attempting and sometimes succeeding at installing spyware on members PCs despite me working with the network operators to get rid of the dodgy ads whenever they showed up. Eventually I gave up and I no longer use those networks. It appears they have very little control over the content in the ads they are serving.
