You'd be surprised at how easily companies can pick up email addresses, or even guess email addresses for that matter....If you post your email address anywhere where guests can read (which means search engines as well), I guarantee they will be picked up...Even if you havent done that, I have heard of spam companies/generators automatically sending emails to common names @ as many domains as they can find.

In other words, even if a company doesnt have an email address, they might send emails to

admin
webmasters
job
jobs
advertising
help
support

etc @4teensonly.com (I didnt list out email addresses so the bots cannot pick you up from this thread )...If the emails exist, great for the spammer, if they dont, oh well - no loss for them.

I'm sure there are other ways to do it, like others have mentioned...unsecured names and what not...but I think the most common methods are probably picking them up when posted publically and just guessing common names @ each domain. What I do is forward all of my email to one of two gmail accounts (one personal, one junk). This is so that if one of my accounts starts to fill up with spam, I can delete it and create a new one to forward to gmail...I've found that gmail's spam filter is incredible. I hardly get any spam on my personal account (inbox)...I get messages in the spam box often, but never in my inbox.
