| To me $75 is a high price just to provide a backup, however, if there is something in the TOS that states this would be the charge, then the host is doing nothing wrong. I don't agree with that policy but as Larry said, if they say this would be the cost to provide a backup, then that's their policy. I have a feeling they don't have this as a written policy though. Or if they do it was only added after this issue came about. Sorry to hear that you went through this though. Good move on not paying the high cost.

That's like a satellite dish company selling their service for $49/month and then in fine print saying the dish itself costs $2,000 If a host tried to charge me $75 for a backup, regardless of whether or not it is in the agreement, I wouldn't stay there long

If I was going to spend $75 on a back for a forum(thats what you lost right?) I would just spend the extra $10, switch to VB and use that as an excuse or use the old backup with the converter. Edit:Ryan ever since I started going here I make daily backups by myself, thanks for the tip.
