   | Hackers on the forum I was a mod on a site until it was hacked somehow, but now the hacked page is down and the /index.php not found page is shown. Will a hacker join a forum that they will hack? |

  | Whilst some forum issues do require you to be a member of a forum to do a specific hack (usually unprotected injections in the control panels, or similiar) it is possible to do similiar things to what you described without being on the forum. Merely by breaching FTP, or some other minor flaw in your Content Management System, if you have one. Long story short. Hackers can join a forum to do a special sort of malicious intention, but more often than not, usually do not.
