Can anyone tell me how I get my data - members, posts etc - across from WoWbb 1.7 to phpbb3?

As far as I know, 2.x.x didn't have a conversion available for free.

Yeah, I don't know what converters are available...but I highly doubt there's one for phpBB 3 yet. If you want to do this soon, you are probably going to have to go WowBB --> phpBB 2 --> phpBB 3

phpBB 2 is really easy to upgrade to phpBB 3 - i done it with ease a while back.

I have been looking around at the bb's available and one thing I noticed almost immediately is how WoWbb is lacking compared to what other bb's offer, in particular php3 bb - which is FREE.

It is a bit annoying when you have to pay for WoWbb then find an update has been in the offering for ages, no idea what it will contain or if you will have to pay for it. Also I find the Mods are rude.

It appears old fashioned. Their help forum contains a clique of posters who seem to think they own it, forever posting drivvel and get the backing of the Mods (or certainly one of them) when you complain.

For a commercial product it is not very professional.

Can you help me with how I transfer my data from WoWbb to php3. I have asked over at WoWbb already who just state that they dont help with such things.

I accept there is no converter but there must be sompe way of retrieving the data I have with WoWbb and somehow, even if I have to do it manually, transferring it across to php".

Here's something to think about -
If you were willing to purchase "Wow" BB, then consider vBulletin. It's had all of phpBB3's features for a long time without the constant security problems that phpBB has always had and will have. You can convert from WowBB to vB for free using vB's Impex system.

Well of course, that would be silly to have WowBB convert your board to another software. It would be kind of like asking ATT and come fix your phone lines when you switched to sprint already.
