I wrote this tutorial to help clans how to install phpbb but i thought it came out soo good that i want share it with other people that want to install phpbb3. The tutorial is kinda big so to finish the installation you will need to click the link at the bottom to continue with the installation. Here's how to install phpbb3 on your web space hosting account. You need to download the latest full package of phpbb3 from the phpBB Creating Communities Worldwide website. Once you download the latest full package of phpbb3 you need to unzip the files and have them ready for uploading to your webspace hosting account. Creating the database... First we are going to create the database for phpbb3. Login to your website control panel [Cpanel] and look for a icon that looks like the picture below called MySQL Databases. ![]() Inside MySQL Databases you are going to create the database that's going to make phpbb3 work on your website. | I'd say "useless" is quite a strong word. CPanel is one of (if not the) most used Hosting Control Panels around. phpBB is one of the most used BB's around so I'd say theres a good chance if someone is looking for install directions for phpBB they'll have a cpanel account.

Nice tutorial. You should post it in the AF resources area as well. One suggestion, either put it at the end or make another tut but something on some general settings that people will probably want to look at after installing. Avatars, signatures, groups, permissions, etc would be good info to do right after install. You'd think PHPBB would put a install form on their site that would allow you to enter your site ftp info and it would install right from phpbb.com NOW THAT WOULD BE COOL! | ||||
