Do you have more than one forum? Do you start vb forums every now and then (for yourself or others)? Do you hate spending hours perusing the vb Options to customize the board the same way as your other one(s)?

Well don't be a hater anymore!! Let me tell you about an often overlooked feature.
It's called Backup / Restore Settings. It is located here:

AdminCP > vB Options : Backup / Restore Settings.

It's the second link on the left of the settings list. (Right under "Expand Settings")

All you do is click it, and on the top part, you save to your hard disk. Then on the new forum, goto the same area. On the bottom part, browse to the back up file and you're done.

Note: Everything gets over written. So you will have to go back and enter the Site Name & General Settings to reflect the new board's info.


This could also be used to back up your settings before a multi-over haul. Easily restore them if your forum doesn't like the changes.
