Adding PHP to vBulletin template

Hi all,

I'm trying to help someone to set up text-link-ads on their vBulletin forum (A rather old version 2.6).

The trouble is, I have no access to vBulletin, and have no experience with it, so I do not know how or where to add the PHP code to display the adverts at the top, or bottom of the forum page. Most of my google searches so far have been for v3.5 or later, or a bit vague for someone not familiar with vB.

Does anyone know where to put PHP code so it can be parsed and added into the forum, or point to a page with instructions.

Ta muchly.

I doubt anyone on here as any experience with vB 2. I started using vBulletin at the 3.0 Gamma stage.

You will probably have to edit a file that is called on every page (global.php for example... not sure if it is that in 2) and then assign it to a variable... and call it in the templates... but I don't even know how the templates worked in 2.6....

I guess vB 2.6 doesn't have the plugin system, huh?

Installing TLA on an up-to-date vB forum is a breeze...You add a plugin and then just put "$tla_ads" into the template that you want to display them in.

I don't know how TLA is set up to work with vB 2.6, but Bama is probably close

In general, regardless of the forum software, php will not work in the template files. You will need to do as Bama stated above.
