![]() | Can you hack Vbulletin? Was wondering if Vbulletin was able to be hacked? I have phpbb3 and have been told by someone that they hacked my forum and was able to read private forums etc... Just how secure is Vbulletin? |

![]() | Unless this person is really 1337, it's unlikely that he hacked you (unless your not running the latest version and he's just using a known exploit). It's more likely that he guessed a password or something stupid like that. |

| Forum Junkie ![]() | vBulletin is (supposedly) alot more secure than other software as it's closed source, thus any bugs aren't openly availalbe ot be read about in the source, or something like that.

![]() | Well he was able to read a forum that's blocked to guests and was able to get into my server. Would love to upgrade to vbulletin but can't afford it right now, so that is why I am asking how secure it is. |

![]() | yeah, that's not hard, I believe all you would have to do is change your user-agent to Google and you can view posts as guests. Don't know what you mean about getting into your server though... |

| Forum Addict ![]() | Yeah anything is vulnerable if they can get server access. That is a server security issue, independent of whatever software you are running.
