Increased Spam

Have any vB owners noticed an increase of spam on their boards recently? On my forum I have been getting what I assume is bot spam daily, even though I use verification questions on registration. I have also noticed this increase in spam on AF. :o It seemed like with vB 3.6 and the NoSpam! addon it was impossible for spammers to get through but for me vB's built in system isn't getting the job done.

I've not had any spam at all since I upgraded to 3.7.x, and non on vB 3.6 since I put NoSpam! on. (I removed NoSpam! for 3.7.x to use the built in)

No spam here... havent had one since patricia the 'buddhist' and that was 3 months ago.

I've noticed some spam here and there but nothing that is greatly affecting the site.

Hmm, maybe its just a coincidence that both my forum and AF have gotten an increase then, if none of you have noticed anything unusual. Not that the spam here and at my forum is related, here is mostly iphone stuff and mine is selling wow gold, etc, but it still seems like there is some kind of weakness. I can definitely tell they are bots on my forum because I have had multiple times when a spammer has posted 50+ times.

i had our dev install some other stuff on here to lessen the spam. have you seen it decrease here lately? i saw it was out of control for a while. it seems to be at a trickle now

Yeah its definitely lessened here, but its more than ever on my board. I changed the verification questions and that didn't stop it, I don't know what else I can do.

I've noticed on the board I co-admin the same thing. What else can we do? Is there a mod that can help?

I had loads on mine (roughly 30 signed up and posted), but now we use the question & answer on the registration page and its reduced it massively.

We were getting raped on my forum with spam; quite a headache at first, but we fixed it quickly.
