how do you get the side bar mod to appear on every page of the forum, instead of just the main forum page. if ya get me.

You need to add it into the wrapper to get it on all pages. Similar to the one I posted above for v1.3.

Hope its ok to talk about this here, I am trying to add the sidebar to my forum. its IPB 2.1.7 now. I did what you said, but i don't want it to start all the way up the top. Was jsut wondering if someone could kindly post up the code to make it start aligned with the top of the first category?

i also want to appear on every page.

thanks, if anyone can help out, it will be great.
