I'm looking to upgrade my invisionfree forum to IPB. My main concern is:

Will all the scripts I have installed still work?
Will my custom skin still work?

I can understand a few skin changes might happen, but overall, is the setup and such pretty similar, or will I have a whole different system to work with. If that's so, I may consider another forum software instead.

IPB's admincp looks way different to IF's admincp, i doubt the skin will work on it. But if you liked IF enough to las that long, i think you should continue to follow InvisionPower! I love IPB, but justs my opinion.

not sure about the scripts either.

I ask about the skins, since the place I learned to skin IF had me reading this page: http://www.duggyd.co.uk/css/ipb1_2_0/index.htm

Has the CSS definitions significantly changed in the newer releases?

I would like to stay with invisionpower for the members sake as well, since it is pretty similar in that aspect. People won't be stumbling around trying to find things

If you have IPB 1.3 your custom CSS should work, but if you upgrade straight to 2.1 they'll be similar but some differences.

I've got invisionfree 1.3, which I'm told has identical CSS to earlier IPB versions.

Anyways, I figured as much. Thanks for the info people, I'll take it all under consideration.
