Getting rid of ads on an IPB 2.0

Someone added ads on my forum, http://gu.data-lore.net/index.php, which wasn't like this before and it was added by someone not being the server/host owner/administrator.

From what I know, the work was done via ftp. How would I be able to get rid of it? The ads are causing spam on my forum, my email address, and it is a pain for some users when they load up the site.

Please let me know a way to get rid of it via ftp (or in the admin panel, if that is possible), or a forum that may be able to help me more with this situation.

If you are meaning the Yahoo Finance stuff at the bottom. Try removing this from the template/skin.

HTML Code:
<!-- Start of Yahoo! Finance code --> <iframe allowtransparency="true" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" hspace="0" vspace="0" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://api.finance.yahoo.com/instrument/1.0/PEP,TGT,DIVX,RNWK,AAPL,MSFT,SNE,NTDOY/badge;chart=1y;news=5;quote/HTML?AppID=k9WoEUUEHHOZYdaYfVW0.FpiewcUxgUOwprv&sig=A7hNG6enwX7SNJd.Hwbv7wMFRHo-&t=1173484308989" width="200px" height="999px"><a href="http://finance.yahoo.com">Yahoo! Finance</a><br/><a href="http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=PEP">Quote for PEP</a></iframe> <!-- End of Yahoo! Finance code -->
EDIT: The one above that is Adbrite, to get rid of that delete:

HTML Code:
<!-- Begin: AdBrite --> <script type=text/javascript>
   var AdBrite_Title_Color = '0000FF';
   var AdBrite_Text_Color = '000000';
   var AdBrite_Background_Color = 'FFFF66';
   var AdBrite_Border_Color = '000000';
</script> <span style=white-space:nowrap;><script src=http://ads.adbrite.com/mb/text_group.php?sid=231024&zs=3732385f3930 type=text/javascript></script><!----></span> </span> <!-- End: AdBrite --></center>

The problem is it seems global. Any skin I add or get rid of it still exists.

And I looked in the admin panel for that stuff, and found nothing.

Maybe you should upgrade from IPB 2.0 Trial Edition. It's full of security exploits and this is likely to be the way the person who put the ads there got in. You might want to make a note of any affiliate ID's, etc., in the URL.
Also IPB2.0 is illegal for use unless you have been using it since it was available for free download and use. Running illegal software is generally frowned upon here.

Even if you obtained the trial from IPB when it was originally released, that was 2-3 years ago and it was understood that the software would only be used for "temporary testing purposes", not permanently.

That said, I'm going to close this thread...We cannot provide support for wrongfully used software. Probably doesn't matter much anymore since the forums have been shut down, for now.
