| Title: Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Posts: 128 Location: Scottsdale, ARizona ![]() | Getting rid of ads on an IPB 2.0 Someone added ads on my forum, http://gu.data-lore.net/index.php, which wasn't like this before and it was added by someone not being the server/host owner/administrator. From what I know, the work was done via ftp. How would I be able to get rid of it? The ads are causing spam on my forum, my email address, and it is a pain for some users when they load up the site. Please let me know a way to get rid of it via ftp (or in the admin panel, if that is possible), or a forum that may be able to help me more with this situation. | ||||

It's full of security exploits and this is likely to be the way the person who put the ads there got in. You might want to make a note of any affiliate ID's, etc., in the URL. Also IPB2.0 is illegal for use unless you have been using it since it was available for free download and use. Running illegal software is generally frowned upon here. | ||||

That said, I'm going to close this thread...We cannot provide support for wrongfully used software. Probably doesn't matter much anymore since the forums have been shut down, for now.
