Recently I have been using MyBBoard as my bulletin board software, now everything is great and dany until today... I was installing a mod, more like uploading some files, and I go to do the next step ( which involved going to my site) so I load up the fourms and to my surprise I got an error, now I deleted these files with no avil. So I when to there site for support, we tried everything with no luck , even resetting the site using the same database.

So now to my point of this thread. I feel that in order to keep my current posts and members, I must change forum software. The only software that will do this is VBulletin, now here is my problem, I have no money I have tried everything, I am to younge to get a job and my parents said no so this is my idea.

I am willing to do the following for you if you sponsor my site with Vbulletin.


*Either 1 flash banner or 2 text banners on my site for 1 year
*A banner linking to your site for a year
*A S-mod ship to my site agian for a year

Now a know it is a longshot but I am very desprite and I don't want to see my site go away.

The first thing that came to my mind was to perhaps see if somebody could fix your current situation in exchange for some sort of payment. I think it might be easier/more realistic to try and reverse whatever you did instead of transferring to new software...afterall, what makes you think that will work? If the database or files are broken now, it seems like there would be a good chance they still remain broken after the transfer

Again, sorry to hear about it...I wish I could help you out, but I don't know anything about MyBB and especially the mods for that matter - good luck fixing it though - let us know how it goes

Thats a good point about the files and database, I am just worried that if the creators can't fix it then who can?

About the backups, I learned that the hard way...boy will I never do that agian. All I can do is hope now or just restart.

I just took a look at your site, and it appears to be working at the moment, is that because you have fixed the problem, or are you running a new install with a new database.

If its a new instlal and a new database, have you tried to do a manual import of everything from your old one?

What was the error that you where getting?

Ive got lots mroe questiosn, but lets start with those, a copy of vB can be very expencive, if i had of know last week, i had a spare lience, but it now in use. If i see one cheap somewhere, i will let you know.

Ok, thanks. I had fixed the problem but I don't think MyBB is as stable as I thought it is, so I am still trying to find VB. I will keep my ears open and maybe I will get lucky and find someone. Thanks for your advice awibble.
