September 11, 2001: Five Years Later

I can't believe it has been five years already. It's tough to look at the images and videos from September 11, 2001. It still doesn't seem real. I remember the day and I'm sure I won't ever forget either. My heart goes out to all those that were affected by the terrorist attacks on that day. I continue to pray for the friends and families of those that died. I also pray for the safety of all of the Armed Forces fighting for our freedom. We have not forgotten about you.

As each year passes, it is sometimes necessary to remember this event by discussing it in ways such as this. Often when things get crazy in life, we forget the sacrifice that many people made that day and continue to make today. I included a link to a tribute video that most of you probably have seen before. Please select this link at your discretion and only if you are interested in viewing something like this.

September 11 Tribute

We will never forget. God Bless America!

I watched the ABC WTC movie tonight (the first part airs tonight and the 2nd tomorrow night) and I enjoyed it. I have a new founded dislike for Madeline Albright and Bill Clinton. I didn't like them before but I really despise them now.

It makes me so angry to see politics cost the lives of 3,000 people.

Remember, there were many factual errors in that movie. I decided not to watch it based on the fact that they didn't verify everything and they chose to add context that never happened. Bad idea for ABC in my opinion.

However I have done my own research for before this movie was ever conceived and pretty much despised both anyways. I just forgot how much until I saw Clinton speak again

Do you happen to have a list of the errors? I'd be interested in seeing what they did.

Check the news, it's been all over the place this past week. Many of the errors were in how they portrayed what people said. For example:
Quote:
Scenes involving former National Security Adviser Samuel R. Berger and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright are at the center of the dispute. They both have said the scenes as depicted in the miniseries never happened and that they shouldn't be shown.

Source: http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/TV/0....ap/index.html
For ABC to keep stuff like that in the movie, that's extremely irresponsible.

Also, I don't want this thread to turn into a political battle. That's not what it was meant for. I do respect the views of others but I also know how things can get out of hand quickly with a topic like this.

Great post Mark! It is still hard to believe and I still have a hard time watching anything related.

I have many friends that work on the clean-up and it is something they hopefully never want to have to do again. I still talk to a couple of them who are still losing sleep over the site.

We will never forget. God Bless America!

I've heard some stories recently about the health effects of those that worked at Ground Zero. This issue came up not that long after 9/11 as well but it is making the news again. I hope the people that you know aren't experiencing any of those problems. Although losing sleep and having to deal with the cleanup each day can't be good either.

I read it. Won't comment on it since you don't want it to go political. I do remember Sept 11 and can't believe it was 5 years ago

I think would be so hard to possibly make a movie/tv series to try and cover the whole story of what happened.

I was only about 8 when it happened, I don't remember it much. but it was very sad
