If Google was so 'great' it should have marketed Googgle Videos properly to bring it up to the standard of YouTube.

The price that YouTube was bought for was madness, 900M for a site that streams videos...thats all it is really!

Raize will become famous soon enough

They tried marketing it as much as they good, even placed a link to google videos on their main search page. Although they recieved a lot of visitors, YouTube was expanding at an unreal pace (it was growing faster than any other site on the net). Theres no way anyone coulda kept up, including google. Now what gives the site such a high value is the BRAND YouTube. Its becoming a common term worldwide which google is going to use to make money.

On a side note, in my opinion google has always lacked in the branding side of things. Although their products are great, they do little to distinguish them as a unique brand. "Google Video" like come on, can you be a little creative for once.

We'll just have to see what YouTube becomes in a few years time to believe that was a good purchase from Google.

YouTube is just a huge lawsuit waiting to happen. There is sooo much trademarked and copyrighted material in those videos. Such as music, characters, and logos.

No probelm, Google's responsible now...

Lets see where their money gets them against some of the biggest companies (If they do take legal action)

They wont take action until there is someting very popular there that is using copyrighted material. I think those companies want to find just the right thing to take legal action on so they can set an example for others.
