Getting away with too many ads?
I am running an experiment.

I am offering free things to download, but with ads on the screen. My question is this... how many is too many? Does it depend on the caliber of the freebies?

I honestly don't think the number of ads you have in this situation matters, it's like you mentioned, I think the caliber of the freebies depends on whether people download them or not, not whether there are too many ads. Obviously there is a lot of ads and then there is a rediculous amount but you catch my drift, right?

I generally don't download things from sites with a lot of ads, they make it look ungenuine. But I guess probably a few sidebar ads. but NO POPUPS

As long as it isn't pop-ups and the page isn't covered by ad's then it's really no big deal to me, after-all if i want what your offering for download then I'm not going to turn round and refuse to download it from you because of a couple of ad's.
