Is this cron job correct?

Hi guys,

I recently got a guy with a VPS to setup an IRC server, and install a stats bot (really eggdrop and pisg). So, it makes the stats on his server every hour. He told me to add a cron job like this: cd /home/coolguy/public_html/stats && wget http://www.mikes-page.co.uk/ctstats/ But for some reason, it doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas?

Thanks

Do you get an error?

I've always used /usr/bin/php

Yep, I just told it to report what the results of the job, and I'm getting:
Quote:
/bin/sh: /usr/bin/wget: Permission denied
How would I be able to fix this (I'm quite new to cron jobs)?

If you have shell access to the server, do "ls -l /usr/bin/wget" and look at the beginning of the result (the permissions). Make sure the last character is "x" (on most systems it is -rwxr-xr-x - it's the last x that matters)

If it isn't, you should tell whoever has root on the server to check the permissions on /usr/bin/wget.
