| Can I make a game server from a VPS? Hi guys, I have been using Host Gator for a few months, and like them, but paying 9.99 a month is really eating up my $27 a month profit. So, I have decided that I may change hosts. I found this one, which offers cheep VPS: http://www.jaguarpc.com/vps-hosting/index.php Now, it's more expensive, but I may get other people to share it with me, lowering the cost for it. Now, do you know if it is possible to make it a gaming server (say for games like BF2142)? Regards, Matt

Join Date: Feb 2006 Posts: 114 | You need special licensing and software to run it though. I'm with JPC running 3 dedicated servers and they are great by the way. Lowest costing fully managed servers I've seen.  | ||||

| Well, from what I see here: http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_bf2142_downloads.html it seems like the software is free (at least for the demo server). But my main question I guess would be more or less how much memory I would need to run a server.
