You are violating many safety rules in that video. After you are done shooting your finger is on the trigger and your muzzle is being pointed all over the place. You should review the 4 basic firearms rules.

1. All guns are always loaded.

2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.

3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.

4. Always be sure of your target.

It was empty, my finger wasn't on the trigger when I got up it was off to the side of it and it was locked securely, which I made sure of before I got up.

No people pointing guns at people and pulling the trigger is what gets people shot. Tell me one instance where an empty gun (my gun) that was locked into place shot and killed someone.

Of course, this is some type of fallacy, since it's other people's belief that a gun "was empty" (when it clearly wasn't) that makes it dangerous.

Being at a firing range and having just emptied the magazine, and having the slide locked in the open position... is a rare exception to the "assume a gun is always loaded" rule. Rare.

Knowing your nature BSG, I will just leave it at that and hope you don't 'finish' something here.

Your finger is on the trigger and the gun is pointed at your camera man. I don't care if the slide is locked back and you just emptied a magazine. You should never have your finger on the trigger unless you plan to shoot. That is a very basic firearms rule

Even if you are absolutely 100% sure the gun is unloaded (you have visually inspected the chamber and pointed the gun in a safe direction and dry fired it) you should never be pointing a gun at something you don't plan to destroy. I would suggest you review the basic firearms rules at the very least. Your "cup and saucer" grip is not helping your shot placement.

Try this

While I understand the "Don't point at what you don't want to shoot" strategy and agree that it's a smart piece of advise, I do not believe I was acting carelessly because I'm not a 12 year old kid playing with his daddies gun. I knew the gun was empty, regardless of if the gun is "never empty", I knew it was locked because I made sure of it before I got up. My finger wasn't on the trigger despite what a grainy youtube video makes it appear so, it was off to the side like the attachment. I never grab a gun and put my finger on the trigger, it's always off to the side. Contrary to what you may think I'm paranoid about picking up a gun and me forgetting there is a bullet in it. I always check the chamber.

I understand your concern and I'm not knocking you for it. I'm not claiming to be some gun expert either and god knows I'm not anywhere near as good of a shot as I want to be.
