We buy and trade gas all day long. While it fluctuates every second and daily, the long term has increased. Natural gas used to be $2.00 per dek and that wasn't more than 6 years ago. People flipped when it hit $10.00 now it's trading at almost $12 with people saying $15 before end of year and $20 within few years.

Barrels are hitting records almost every other few days. Wait until you see $200/barrel, $100/barrel was a high a month ago and now it's $120 or so. Summer time only gets worse with vacations and traveling.

I'm looking at all electric cars. They're not as sluggish as conceived (Thanks MythBusters)

Considering the supply we have and are able to purchase (not that we need to...), it is outrageous.

We're still hanging high at $3.50 something here in Ringgold, GA. Here, it's always best to buy at night time or the early AM (i.e. 12am, 1am) as the pricing generally drops. Travel is naturally higher in the mornings, so that's when they start spiking the prices right back up.

Given, a .03 decrease isn't exactly anything to get excited about because it's really only .02 cents due to the $3.50(9) bit. Gas is always 1 cent higher than it actually appears.

To really test that theory, go to the pump, pump you're gas and see if you really get XX Gallons for XX. You'll have to pump a bit more.

I always try to pay cash. So that means I go inside first. Well, I don't want to return afterwards in case I don't use everything I paid for. I have 15 gallon tank. So, I just get 10 gallons worth. It's easy. Just move the decimal.

$3.59(9) x 10 = $35.99

But if I want the full 15, and i'm running on empty, I just add half of my estimate back onto itself.

$3.75(9) x 10 = $37.59
half of 37 is about 18
37+18=56

So I just pay $56 and know I'll be okay at the pump. (actual amount = $56.39)

Threads like this make me wish I didn't . I like being able to get where I'm going in a hurry and I like the idea of transportation, however, I hate the idea of such insane gas prices.

I feel sorry for those that do drive a truck as their only means of transportation. Having a 4cy Manual Trans helps, however, it's still painful at the pumps.

I'd rather put my money to better use, though, in order to get where I need to go, I have to put it to better use and gas at the same time .

Close to this in The UK already. When I fill up in New York (where I am now) I love it! $4 is cheap to me...
