Marriages are made in heaven

I am been bought up in an very orthodox family and believe that "Marriages are made in heaven"

I like this quote made by - John Lyly

Marriages are made in heaven and consummated on Earth.

Yes and it happens in all parts of the world but with a difference...

We have many married members here from different parts of the world and thought of intiating a thread by posting few pictures of my marraiage and share with others which i think will be very exciting one for all...

I am scanning pictures of marriage now and will update here soon, meanwhile i welcome others interested to share their experiances and pictures of their marriage pl post here...

Lets know others style and cultural way of 'How Marriages are made in Earth'

Ladies of BB - you might be interested in this one...

My wife was lucky enough (or unlucky enough depending which way you look at it) to have been asked to pose for several potographs that were printed with a related story in one of the major Sunday papers here in the UK.

The story was about the comparable salary that ought to be paid to a housewife / Mum / homekeeper when you look at the rates of pay received by cooks, seamstresses, accountants, child minders etc. It proved to be a very interesting read indeed and believe it or not, when sstimating the time spent doing the work she does, the paper then compared how much a professional would have been paid for that time, and my wife should be paid at least £70,000 pa.. hehehehehe

We had an excellent suite of photographs taken and one in particular was a special one for me. I will did it out and scan it. It was of my and my two kids sat on the sofa looking up at my wife embracing the three of us in her arms.... awwww bless...

I'll ask Jen where it is when she comes home later and scan it in here....

Nice thread miner

Great thread, i am looking forward to seeing your photos Miner and John.

Unfortunatly i don't have any wedding photos to show as although i've been with my partner for almost 15 years the thought of marriage scares me so i've always said no when he's popped the question - why fix something that's not broken

Here is my few marriage pictures...

Normally our marriages are held in Auditorium for 2 days, there are lot of Wedding rituals to follow...

Quote:
A short note on Indian marrages:
Each religious group, region, and caste has a slightly different set of rites. Generally, all weddings involve as many kin and associates of the bride and groom as possible. The bride's family usually hosts most of the ceremonies and pays for all the arrangements for large numbers of guests for several days, including accommodation, feasting, decorations, and gifts for the groom's party. These arrangements are often extremely elaborate and expensive and are intended to enhance the status of the bride's family. The groom's party usually hires a band and brings fine gifts for the bride, such as jewelry and clothing, but these are typically far outweighed in value by the presents received from the bride's side.

Not funny at all miner... I for one, and I am sure everyone else here respects your culture and way of life.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to an Indian wedding when a friend of mine got married a few years back. What a spectacular festival it was too... breathtaking to be honest. The whole ceremony and event was wonderful - we all enjoyed it.

I'll second what tMM's said. If there's one thing I love, it's being invited to an Indian wedding. I was lucky enough to be invited to one while I was living out in India and I had the most fantastic time! So bright and colourful with music, dancing and good food. So much better than most British weddings I've been to were everyone's been drunk by 9pm.

@Miner - You and your wife look so lovely together! Really friendly and hospitable by the look of the last photo.

Thanks and the sad part is forced marriage does happens here to be exact 70% of marriages in India are forced then arranged or love....

but thats life here parents take advantage of their kids becz they look after spend money provide education and most of all love them mad...

so this kind of things happens here normally cant avoid as we tend to lean to our parents love then life partners....
