Smile Name Yourself

If your could give yourself another name, a real name like the one you have, what would be one that would suit yourself for you?

A study once said that our names and the way they sound partly determine who we become, which gives you all something to think about when choosing your own new name.

Mine would probably be Sean, I've thought about it alot and have always liked the name, thought it looked neat and fit me through and through, so that would most likely be the one I picked.

I'd keep my current one: Caleb. I quite like it.

I actually thought your name might be Shelly.
I was wrong.

A friend of mine had a baby recently and the advice I gave him regrading the naming was, that anything is fine but remember some names attract bullying at school and also avoid names that have to be spelt all the time.
I have one of those names and had to spell it all my life. I don't mind the name but I think parent should consider these things.

Very good advice.

We had a girl at school who's parents obviously hadn't given the name much thought.

She was called Sonja and her surname was Willey

I think I'd just use the shortened version of my name: Rach. Or the nickname my brothers gave me when they were little: Rachy. On the odd spelling subject, my parents did choose the odd spelling: Rachael. I always get people asking me if I have one A or two in my name.

My name is hardly used by anyone - Lisa .. I'm either called Lee or Azh... Azhria Lilu was the romany name given to me by my great grandmother and more people call me the shortened version - Azh - of that rather than by my birth name. Azh fits me, so it's all good
