This is Exciting Spoke with David Ha'Ivri earlier today. Went quiet well. If all goes well, and thus far it seems as though it may, Yisrael Meir Cohen may be coming to Grand Rapids to speak. I still have to work out the details with David.
I'm surprised how receptive he was to it given the relatively small size of the local Jewish community (only 2-3 thousand) and the fact that there is only one frum family in the entire city (from what I know).
For those who don't know, a bit about Yisrael Meir Cohen:
Yisrael Meir Cohen (42), was chief of operations for the Herut party during the '03 Knesset campaign, and is presently aiding in the '06 Herut election campaign. He is Co-founder with David Ha'Ivri and Executive Director of "Revava".
And for those unfamiliar with David Ha'Ivri, the person with whom I'm working to set this up, a bit about him:
David Ha´ivri, chairman of Revava, is also editor of Darka Shel Torah and Ideas in Action newsletters, and the publisher of books teaching Jewish pride through his company Kahane Books.
