its strange that all of these sites were very very big sites but i have never heard of any of them. Must have been before my time.

WebVan and MVP.com are definitely the two that really stood out for me...I thought webvan was such a good idea...I even knew people that used it and I've seen it in action, was a great system that appeared to work well to me...but it sounds to me like they just put way too many resources into it...resources they couldnt fund in the long run

I have heard of most of these. I actually remember the downfall of Go.Com. They were growing at a very rapid rate, I remember they were also going to start hosting (they would be one of the first) But then suddendly they disappeared.
