Get a job, stay at home if you can and save up money... then move out.

ITA here. Tough it out if you can for as long as you can. Get a job now, because living on your own is very expensive. You will need to have at least 3 months income saved in your savings account for emergencies. Also just to get your own place you will need extra money for security deposits, application fees, first months rent, starting your utilities sometimes need deposits as well. You will need a moving truck to get your furniture from your parents house to your new place. You will also need to stock up on food and other household supplies. Do you have a living room set? What about a dining room set? Towels? These are all the things you need to think about before you move. Start now if you can, you don't want to wait until the last minute to get prepared because then you won't be able to afford it. You can always put things on lay-a-way if you need to, even at some furniture stores they will allow you to do this, so check around and do your homework on this. It is not something to take lightly. Make sure you get a really good job too, because I have a feeling if you don't want your parents to know you are moving and you move, there might be some tension, anger and hurt. I don't know what kind of parents you have, but would they want to help you financially if you get into a bind and you leave on bad terms? Think long and hard about this before you do it

Good Luck to you

I know how you feel. I moved out the a week after I graduated high school.

I would suggest this. Get a job and save up that money so that when you move you have somewhat of a cushion. Next would be mention to your parents that you want to become responsible and become a man. You want to experience how life is on your own. Tell them you won't move far and will be around a fair amount but this is something you want to do. Also tell them your future plans like college and work and women. And don't say all of this "if" crap like "if I can afford it" . GO DO IT, the only thing holding you back is you.
