Fifa World Cup

I'm not usually into soccer, but for some reason this World Cup thing has really gotten me interested. When ever a match is on I watch it (and i'm from the US too- no one from the US is suppose to like soccer ) I've been cheering for Germany ever since the US got knocked out.

Right now its Portugal vs France and then Germany vs Italy in the Semi-Finals.

I think it will come down to France and Germany, and ultimatly Germany will win it.

Actually you will find that there are alot more americans in to soccer than you think. I know we put 22,000 in the columbus crew stadium for the US - Czech game and all we were doing was watching it on the big screen. Imagine if the game was actually in columbus.

Don't be to sure on France n1ck

Portugal's manager won the last World Cup as Brazil manager four years ago and two years ago he got Portugal to their first ever final where they lost the European Championship to the hosts Greece. Defaintly worth considering them as a good possibility.

The US interest in the World Cup is nothing like interest around the world...Larry, if we put 22,000 into the columbus stadium, I bet most countries in Europe could put 220,000 into it.

I played soccer for 13 years, so I am naturally interested in it...I'm an Italy man

lol, there isn't a stadium in britain that could hold 220,000, but you should have seen the city centers when the English were playing. No one could move I saw one camera shudder in I think Leeds with the force of everyone jumping after they scored in an early game.

I think the final is going to be Germany vs Portugal. The portuguese are playing very well, and well France too but they are just too old..lol

You can have the best manager ever but that won't decide the winner. The players will, if you have a team that sucks! no matter who your manager is, you're going to lose.

Yeah and I don't think they'll win it only that they are a good possibility to win it. Personally I think the hosts will win it has nearly always been the case when one of the bigger nations hosted it.

that wasn't the point. He said that he noone from the US was supposed to like soccer. I was just proving that it was not the case, not saying we have the following that Europe has because that would be a ludicrous statement.

Plus I think most of the soccer stadiums in europe top out at around 80k.

You guys just wait and see, France will beat Portugal. Portugal's keeper is really good but France is just too good. And just because they are old just gives them more experience and wisdom.
