Scanner recommendations?

I am looking for a new scanner. I have one already but it is made for win98 only and there are no drivers available for XP anywhere, trust me I looked.

I prefer and only want a stand alone model, don’t want scanner/printer/fax combo. I already have one.

Any suggestions?

One that works with 98 should work with XP, have you tried it?

I had a scanner once that wouldn't work with anything but ME. I sold it after I went with XP.

I get combo units now for the same reason I got an LCD monitor, saving space.

Just the other day I was at Staples saying how funny it is that they still sell stand-alone units.

Great to hear that it's now working James. I've used both HP and Epson scanners and have liked each of them.

It's actually a smart move because many people - including myself - don't like the all-in-one units. I much rather buy a stand-alone scanner than anything that if broken can cause you to lose several pieces of equipment.

Agreed. Like I said I already have an all-in-one unit, but it is on the other side of my office and I don't want to have to get up each and every time to scan something, lazy oh hell na, I get enough exercise chasing 2 kids around.
