Weightloss results post surgery...

As most of you know I had Gastric Bypass surgery back in October of last year. I decided I would put up some before and after pics for everyone to see how I'm doing. I don't even recognize myself.

Holy crap, why didn't you just go to the gym and do it the hard way? I wouldn't get surgery, but it looks like it worked for you.

Have you every been 460lbs? If not then you have no idea how immobilizing it is. Walking is a challenge let alone going to the gym. Plus don't think that I didn't try you way. I was on and off for the better part of 4-5 years trying to get and keep my weight under control. When you are desperate for your family you do what you need to do.

I'm glad it worked for you man. I had a teacher in high school that had the same surgery. Night and day difference for him as well.

That's awesome, Larry - I'm glad for you, and keep it up, you're looking great

Larry already responded saying that being that heavy is immobilizing...there comes a point when getting to the gym is a workout, let alone walking on a treadmill...and it's not as easy for some people as it is others to lose weight...Some are predisposed to obesity and it is damn near impossible to keep off weight via the usual methods (ie: dieting and exercise)...which only leaves surgery.

I remember Larry telling me about the surgery and all of the pre-screening and what not that the doctors do to make sure that he is in need of it and that his body can handle it...and even at that, gastric bypass is a very risky procedure with all sorts of complications (some fatal)...he wouldn't have done it if he and his doctor were not convinced it was the only way to go...and by no means is it the "easy way out"

You also dont weigh over 400 pounds...gastric bypass is not for people who need to lose a pound or two here and there.
