If they offer a trial version, and you're using it on a private computer not connected to the internet, then there likely isn't anything wrong with it. If they don't offer a trial or demo version, then running it is certainly a violation no matter where it's installed. As far as U.S. IP laws are typically concerned, simply HAVING an illegally gotten piece of software could get you in trouble. Advertising that fact on the internet isn't likely to help your case at all. You should (at the very least) make sure that you're not in violation of any terms, and if you are, either purchase a license or remove the unlicensed software and switch to something like phpBB or SimpleMachines Forum, which are freely licensed under the GPL. | ||||
