I am Haqikah. I've been an admin of several boards, and remain an admin of a few. I have used Invision Free, Excoboards, WebAmerica, SuddenLaunch, Proboards and a few fly by night one's that no longer exist, oh and an MSN group (UGGH). I've tried each one to see what they have to offer. In the end, I have decided to park 2 of my message boards at Proboards, because they offer the most of what I am looking for, namely customization with skins and security. Security for both of my boards is essential!

I don't write codes, I only know how to copy/paste them into my boards. I do maintain several websites, and do know enough HTML to make me happy and make my websites look pretty darn good if I may say so myself.

I do create graphics. More for myself than anything else. I'm slowly learning how to create Website Graphics, but need to learn more about coding them properly. I make Wallpapers, for myself. I'm also slowly trying to learn how to make Guild Layouts and Pet Layouts and User-layouts for Neopets. (For myself for now. Still trying to get the hang of the coding.) Can you tell I have trouble with the coding of all these!!

Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself to you all. I joined a few days ago, and decided to lurk and see what there was here. I found you all accidentally, when googling for something else entirely. I think it may have been a good accident.

I'm going to have to agree, what a great introduction ...Sounds like you've got quite a bit of experience with different forum software, although I was surprised to see so many free software hosts and lesser known software...Have you ever given software such as phpBB, SMF, MyBB, IPB, or vB a try? These are the bigger names on the market today.

I would, but my boards are both by Invitation Only. They deal with extremely senstive issues and so we keep them both very private. One day, I may send ya a PM with links to my websites, but you have to remember, the websites all use templates designed by someone else, who has given me permission to use them, with proper credits of course!! If you are truly interested in seeing the forums or websites, you can PM me if you wish, and I can then tell you more about the sites/forums if you like.

To the one who asked what I was googling. I was googling Forum/Website Templates and found this site while doing that. I found some interesting and good sites along the way, that have given me ideas on how to better create my own website templates.

I've tried Phpbb.com and a couple that have that in their names and are free forum sites, but they are just not what I was looking for either. Proboards simply offers more of what I want and need, and they do fairly regular updates to what they offer.

Thank you all for the very friendly welcome. I'm still looking around a lot. I'm seeing that much of the information seems to be geared more toward those who have the $$ to pay for Forum Hosting, but I'm still looking around and seeing what ideas I can implement to help improve my free forums more.
