It's an old forum cliché but I'm going to say it anyway, I'm a long time lurker and first time joiner!

I joined to hopefully get some ideas on running my forum and to be a good admin.

I ran a proBoards Australian lawn industry forum for 2 years which I eventually shut down due to lack of an audience for the market I was targeting. I don't regret having it because it taught me a lot about forums, plus a bit about html, and some experience as being a host.

I have to say, while I tried my best to run the forum to a very high standard, I no doubt made a lot of common mistakes, but it taught me a lot.

These days I've recently created a lawn care website for the Australian market, and have a bridged phpBB3 forum attached. The forum is primarily for home owners or contractors in the industry to discuss anything to do with lawn care.

I'm not expecting it to be busy, it's more of a complimentary service for visitors to the site.

But I would still like to learn more about running it properly, to discuss problems, learn solutions, and how to be a good host / admin for participants. Maybe I could share some of my past experiences here too.

Anyway, that's me, so Hi to all, and I look forward to calling by and participating from time to time.
