Post The Infinity Program[Reviewed]

I once had gaming and computing seperated. I like the name I had for the gaming forum: Gamer Verse. However, I found it fit to fuse them together into what is now seen on the index as Gaming & Computers.

At least for now I got rid of Memberlist because I wasnted to decrease visibility of silent spammers and those who may choose to use the memberlist to mass email (I don't think it's happened, but knowing it's very possible annoys me), and I didn't really think it was important. I suppose I'll leave it once upgrading to Olympus. This point, by the way, is explained in my "FAQ/NSFAQ" sticky of the "Requisite Reading" forum, where all the important stuff is at.

Many of the customization made are listed in a topic called "Implemented MODs" in "Requisite Reading". One such MOD can be seen viewing the agreement page that pops up before registration. There are five templates, three dark, two bright (including the default), but all fully customized, including custom banner. By the way, and as to the default template's banner, we were obviously aiming for the minimalist approach. I understand the text under the forums in this template may be a little too small for some. I don't like how it looks bigger, though. Maybe if I change the font type. . .

As I said, there are five templates, and if you want to view the others, you don't need to register, as I already have a test account set up:
Username: test
Password: test
Please just don't change any of that account's settings. Also please note that, upon logging in, you may be introduced to one of the other templates that were added. I haven't checked recently to see if it's on the default template or not (and I've been too lazy to do so), but I know someone has used the test account very recently.

My forum is a classic example of a general discussion forum, and I want to keep it that way. I expressed my feeling for this point differently to a reviewer at Admin Zone:
  • And I undestand this. There are many forums that specialize or focus on a particular subject, and there are probably many more that don't, and mine is one of the latter, though that's the point I wanted all along. Perhaps I'll make a site some time in the future and whatever that site will be about the forum will focus more on. But I don't consider my forum to be professional or serious. It's a simple forum for people who just want to discuss or debate about a number of subjects, hence a forum that encompases many subjects. The forum was made for the fun of basic community discussions and such based on some of the more fundamental or common subjects.

Initial Impression
I really like the skin, it's very easy on the eyes and the Header is very simple, but goes with the skin nicely

Organization and Feel
I think your site is very well laid out and you have just the right amount of forums. I love the activity level, especially for a site that doesn't have a main topic, job well done

Skin and Modifications
Again, I really like the skin and the header! I like the shoutbox at the bottom of the page instead of the top, to me it just looks cleaner. The random quote at the bottom is also a nice touch. I think you have done a wonderful job!
Have you thought about putting in an arcade or even an article system? Those might be great additions to your site as well.

Guidelines and Staff
Ok, I am cracking up here at some of your rules! I really like the batman rule...too funny Seriously, I think you have done an excellent job on your rules! I don't think I have seen that much detail in rules and guidelines before. I am impressed From what I have seen you have an active staff. This is really good as it sets a tone with the members that the staff really care about the site, so then the members care and will get more involved.

Recommended Changes
Well, I think this will be a first for me, but I don't recommend you change a thing! I really liked your site and I can tell you have put in a lot of hard work and are dedicated to making this site work. Good Luck to you

Thanks for the review and compliments.

I have taken the arcade into consideration and did add it once. I thought people were spending more time on it than the topics which is what my motivation was for refusing to add it again. I never seriously considered adding an article system, but that seems like something I'd like to check out.
