The first thing that I noticed was the loading speed when scrolling (both up and down). It is horribly slow! I'm not sure if it's the skin, or the graphics, but either way, that's something that needs to be taken care of. Also, the welcome box at the top is pretty...obvious. Is that only visible to guests, or do members see it, as well?

Thats some lovely brown colors! It's nice forum but it loads a bit slowly.

Why do you have a big welcome image? Why not make that into text?

Good Luck!

It keeps the search engines from indexing your welcome message. It is a little big, imo.

She needs an image map those, so the register and contact us links can be in the image.

hmmmm - someone else mentioned this... Well he said "lagging" and I'm still not exactly sure what that means... I've just viewed JPiC in both Opera (my browser of choice btw...) ALSO in IE (yucko!) and FF ---- Seems no issue with scrolling... So I'm not sure exactly how to fix this What browser are you browsing in ALSO could it possibly be the javascript for rollover images in the navbar???

Thanx very much - I chose the brown shades because the 1st original JPiC skin was of brown... The style is Serenity from gfxStyles and is totally AWESOME imo - just added a bit of purplesqe to balance. ALSO - yep LOL - I kinda wanted a HUGE welcome header for some reason - may think about sizing it down a bit --- about the site loading speed - I was just actually requested to upgrade hosting service, as JPiC has grown substantially... 300 Members online at one time the other day o_O ----> So when I upgrade shouldn't be any prob with the site loading speed

Image maps are links placed on your image. An example can be BBC's world map in their left meny:

Ah, please ignore what I said about the scrolling issue; it was a false alarm. At the time of visiting your website, everything was loading a little slowly. Now, it's back to normal. Nice forum!

Ok guys - I've done a bit of research on image maps... Now the code I have now is for the Welcome Header to be a background image within the table...

I would LOVE to get the code to where the image can still be the table background AND have the image map coding... So far ALL BAD LOL

Anyway - the bit of code I'm working with below:

HTML Code:
<td class="alt2"> <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" nowrap="nowrap" no-repeat align="center" background="images/welcome.gif" width="666" height="314" ismap="#welcome"> <map name="welcome"> <area shape="rect" coords="blablalba" href="http://JPiCforum.info/register.php" alt="Register"> <area shape="rect" coords="and blablabla again :)" href="http://JPiCForum.info/sendmessage.php" alt="Contact Administrator"> </map> </table> <br />
I think this can be done - but not quite sure about the exact coding. Will appreciate any help!

ALSO - thanx for all the nice comments on JPiC - I put in a lot of hours getting it customized to my liking! It's nice that you guys can appreciate that work!

Thanx,

Jacquii.
