As for your question about AJAX, the reason is two fold. Firstly, I tend to only use AJAX in times where it benefits the end user, not so much the admins. Secondly, there is potential that as the system grows that the approve action could increase in calculation time and I didn't want a person leaving the page before the request completes.

What do you mean official posts? If you mean the grey star should only appear on the review-post, I don't agree. If you mean the dialog should only appear on the review-post in question, then I agree.

It should only appear on a review post that is in a review thread. Meaning only a thread that was created post review system implementation. Agree or not it is the way it is because the data isn't there other wise.

It would not be very feasible or beneficial for us to go back and alter the old review threads to reflect the new categories and ratings, so as Larry said, those will just have to be done the old-fashioned way.
