There is not an official review usergroup anymore, because not enough people were willing to step up and help.

That has the potential to create all sorts of problems...the two biggest being:

1) The threads that we don't lock down and let the user resubmit because we think they received good reviews, but the user does not. These users are going to get angry "Why was so-and so allowed to resubmit but not me".

2) The sudden influx of people who are going to want reviews...We're talking about a lot of people here over a 3 month period, and there would be far too many requests.

3 months people, it's not a big deal...We are wasting a lot of time sitting around and chatting about something that seems so petty.

IDK how the review usergroup works here, idk if they have a staff section or w/e but if you could contact some of them and say "whenever your in the reviewing mood, check this out www.adminfusion.com/blahblah

maybe that? idk....

EDIT! OHHHH i didnt know the reviewer usergroup is no more. NOW i understand the dilemma, my bad guys.

i just want a fricken review man, i followed the rules, i am being patient, i try and help people around here, and i just a review is all.....

That was most likely directed somewhat towards me, but I was just noting the same thing as Caddyman.

Obviously it's an impressive system, but I don't think it would be hard to lock the old threads that did not get official reviews from the old review team, and allow them to post up a new review. I'm guessing part of the reason you made the new review system is that you don't have to count on a few members reviewing peoples forums and now its the whole community (which I think is a good idea). But this would also make your response that you gave me before somewhat null seeing that the whole community reviews, so there is no pressure on anyone to feel overwhelmed if there are more reviews one week than the next.

Obviously you don't want to do that, and it's your site to say yes or no to things to, but it just seems unfair that some members now have to wait 6 months to get a review after they patiently waited 3 months (like I did) after switching to vB to improve my forum.

If you really think people don't appreciate what the site has to offer, I also think you should appreciate people coming here and helping make this the COMMUNITY that it is.

I'm not upset that I have to wait 6 months for a review, it isn't that big of a deal, it's just that it wouldn't be hard to add 6 or so more new reviews in for the people who were caught over in the cross-over period from the old reviews. You must have told the review team to not bother with new reviews because there were hardly any for the last month before switching so it would have also made sense to tell members to just sit tight and wait a bit to submit theirs.

I see exactly where you are coming from. I think that anyone who has recently submitted a forum for review before the new system should have the new system added to it by an admin locking it and making a new thread with the appropriate info

I actually get what you are saying Chase. Ryan doesn't seem to.

If someone submitted a review request but never got one that meets our standards, they and only they should be allowed to transfer over to the new review process. Not everyone will be pouring in here demanding to get a "pretty" review because we could deny them with this reason: You already got an AF approved review, sorry.

According to Chase, there are only a handful that fall under these unique parameters.

That's exactly right! When you post a thread in the reviews forum you expect a certain level of review. When we had review team, they had guidelines and with the new system there are guidelines to get the star.

There are not only a handful, guys. We didn't have an official review team for a month or two. I think one of the problems here is that a lot of you have not actually gone back and looked at how many reviews did not receive an "official review". Just so you don't have to look - it's a lot. We're talking about 2-3 pages of reviews...In other words, 50+ reviews.

That's not just a handful, and that's why it's more work than it's worth. I don't want us to have to decide who can submit again and who cannot. I also don't want 30 reviews submitted in one week.

It's not going to happen.

You just don't know the scope of things...and given how many reviews we're talking about, it would be much easier on all of us (yes, you included), if you just waited your turn. If you want to go up in arms because you cannot wait 2-3 months to use something that took us a lot of time and energy to develop, then so be it.

The review system is working correctly now, and everybody understands how it works. This thread has served its purpose - therefore, thread closed.
