Forum Review System Explained

Explanation of AdminFusion's Forum Review System

We are using a unique rewards system for forum reviews here at AdminFusion. All members who meet the requirements may submit their forum for review based on certain categories to be judged. Once the forum is up for review, the rest of the members will be able to rate each category on a 1-5 scale and then provide comments for each category. Those who submit exceptional ratings and comments will be awarded stars () and "review points". For detailed information on this process, read below.

Having Your Forums Reviewed

Follow these steps to list your forums for review. BEFORE doing this, be sure to read the review guidelines to make sure that your forums are eligible to be reviewed. If so, you may continue below.
  1. Click "New Review" in the Forum Reviews forum.
  2. Fill in the appropriate fields and select the categories you would like for your forums to be judged on.
  3. Use the comments box as a place to describe your forums and ask for any specific advice that you may be looking for.
  4. A new thread will now be created containing the information you requested. Below this, the overall ratings received for each category will be displayed as people begin reviewing your forum.
Reviewing Another Forum

We, as forum owners, can only benefit from forum reviews if everybody is contributing by reviewing other forums. Here is the process to do that
  1. Find a thread in Forum Reviews and click "Review" to review that forum.
  2. Examine the forum thoroughly.
  3. Rate the forum on a 1-5 scale (1 being poor, 5 being excellent) for each category by clicking on the appropriate star.
  4. Comment on what you saw for each category whether it be suggestions, questions, ideas, etc.
  5. Once finished with all ratings and comments, click submit.
Significance of the Stars

After you review a forum by rating it on each category and commenting on each category, your review will await approval/denial from an AdminFusion staff member. If your ratings are deemed accurate and your comments are exceptional, your review will be "Approved", noted by a yellow star () next to "Review Status". If your ratings seem to be far off and/or your comments are either inaccurate or not helpful, your review will be "Denied", noted by a red star (). Remember that the point of a forum review is to point out areas for improvement. If your review is just full of "good job" comments, then it will not be approved with a yellow star. You will not be penalized for this and your ratings and comments will remain viewable, but you will not receive a yellow star. While your review is waiting to be approved, it will be marked with a gray star ().

If your ratings and comments are approved, you will also gain a yellow star on the right side of your postbit. This yellow star will expire in 30 days. If at any given time you have 5 active stars, you will also receive a badge () until a star expires that causes you to drop to 4 stars.

Lastly, each member who has had an approved review will have a bracketed number next to their stars. This number simply indicates the total number of approved reviews made all time by that member. It is there to keep track of long term contributions for each member instead of just the recent contributions (denoted by stars with a 30 day expiration).

These stars and badges do not give you any special privileges or responsibilities and are only meant to acknowledge and reward those who contribute quality forum reviews.

If you have any questions regarding any step in this process, you can ask us here in this thread. Thanks, and happy reviewing!

It looks like there are some slight problems...

For one, there's this:
Quote:
Forum Name:<br />
Trance Podium<br />
<br />
Forum URL:<br />
http://www.trancepodium.com/forum/<br />
<br />
Comments:<br />
Hi guys!
I'd appreciate if you review my trance music forums and give me some advice on how to rise the activity on the forums.

Thank you!
(looks like a new review?)

And then also, the "Review" page is blank... you get the box up there, but then it's just empty.

I was just going to try the new review system and review my first forum but when I click 'Review' to review that forum I cannot see any options to rate it. All I see are two buttons 'Submit Reply' and 'Preview Post'. It's obviously something I've overlooked?

So multi-quote is not working for me for some reason. I will just do like so.

@Belloman
Html Issue
I have corrected this issue. His post failed when he attempted to post so it doesn't show up as an actual review post in the database.

@Joy & @Belloman
Review post screen blank issue
This has been corrected. It was due to the fact that the older posts don't have the required information to make a review post on them. I have removed the button from those screens so that this won't happen in the future.

Larry, two questions:

Why aren't the review/deny dialogs in AJAX?
How do I cancel that box w/o a db error page?

I guess I'm a little confused. Which review/deny dialogs are you talking about? Currently with the posts that are up there should be no accept/deny drop-downs. I wanna make sure I'm answering the correct question.

Sorry. You know... by clicking on this: an admin gets a dialog box.

Well, I just figured out if you click the star again, the box disappears. So.. nevermind?

Well now my question is where are you seeing this? Can you link me to the post? It shouldn't be appearing on any posts @ this point. Hmmm you use the red skin don't you?

Edit: gah yup there it is. GRRR will fix that. It should only be showing on official posts.
