TalkPetsOnline.com is a Forum for Pet Lovers. Its fairly new (about 2 days old) and wanted to hear from the AF community.

This site is dedicated to Pets and their owners. People learning how to improve the lives of their best friends and talking things over with new friends.

Let me know what else i can do to make TPO a better place.

Wow, I was really surprised with the purple theme. It's a nice break from the blues & greens you see around. Starting from the top, and working my way down, this is what I have to say about your design.

You have a favorites icon, and that's great! It really shows you have attention to detail.
Your logo, however, needs to be cleaned up. It looks crowded with the artificial spots. If you want to keep the spots, perhaps you can make them span multiple letters to unify them. It would make them one entity, and not look busy.
I love the grid background. It reminds me of graph paper.
You have a fluid design, which is good, but I'm biased towards having a maximum width. On my 20" wide screen, it looks okay but I love having margins. A quick fix. Just make your board 90 to 95% width?
I'm not too keen on having a shout box appear at the top, or to visitors for that matter. Will a spider ever type in it?
Your guest welcome message is vb's default. Change it, quick. And while you're at it, make it an image so that the text doesn't show up as duplicate content on the SERPs.
I love that you have a side bar, and that it's not just on the forum home. That donate button looks awfully familiar!
Why do the locked forum markers appear to visitors? They look uninviting. But if you must use them, perhaps get or create ones where the lock is something related to pets. Maybe a leash hook?
I can see your staff section. You need to set the forum permissions to hide it from those who can't post in it.
I like your user group legend. Perhaps you could hot link it?

Good looking side bar. Adsense integrated great. Great place to have a pet of the month.
I like the skin's minimize and maximize buttons which are just words.
I also like "Upgrade your account" in the header. But maybe not show it to visitors?
It would be great if your group legend were clickable. If you clicked on [moderator] it would list all moderators..etc.

Guest search is active, and they can read posts. And that's about all they can do.
They can't download pictures of pets that have been uploaded to the board.
There's not a great call to action. I would feel kind of lost.

I couldn't find the link to the rules! I looked in the header, the navbar, the side bar, and the footer. Nada.
I had to guess where they would be located. And only because I am a forum owner myself, I guessed correctly. Suggestion's and feedback had your terms of service.
You can keep it there, but link to it from the front somewhere. (I hope the link is in the welcome PM)

Your logo isn't clickable. There aren't TOO many forums. 9 isn't bad for a young board, especially since you need to differentiate between pets.

i was thinking the same thing, i have a non-spotted logo on my home machine i think ima load.

great question and i would like to know how to change that, trumpetmaster has the same issue on fight rice and i can't figure out how to change it.

thanks alot Red and i will take all of that into effect asap. i removed the lock icon and my forum permissions seems right so im not sure how you see my staff section. but ill trouble shoot it.

im going to make the welcome message an image for sure. great idea!

yea i just had the settings to tweak. i figured it out after i read your review.
