When I first pull up your site, my eyes immediately go towards the ESPN score ticker because it's the only color on the page, and it's at the top. So, by instinct, I assume that it is navigation. Thinking that it's navigation, I click on the different sports, and I'm not taken anywhere. That's kind of confusing to me. One recommendation would be to move your actual navigation (the black bar) to the top of your page and perhaps place the ESPN ticker right underneath it.

Still on the homepage, I'd definitely move the Fan Smack News above the Forum and Blog links. Otherwise, there is really no content (above the fold). You may want to put some sort of introduction/blurb as the first piece of content. Explain to your visitors what Fan Smack is and where they can go to get what they want...because at first glance, it isn't very clear to me what your site's all about.

As far as the forums themselves...When I hover over the Forums button in the navigation and click on it, all I'm shown is general chat forums. I assumed that when I clicked on that, I'd be shown all of the forums...and if not, I'd at least be shown some sports forums since it is a sports website. I know that the sports are listed in the dropdown and at the left...but clicking on Forums alone whether in the navigation or the breadcrumb takes me to general chat...It should take me to the focus of Fan Smack - sports forums.

Thanks Ryan... I was thinking about switching the ESPN Ticker and the Navigation.

I'm having trouble making the drop down work in IE but it works in other browsers I think. I'm going to add something at the top of the general forum with instructions for going to the sports forums or move the general forum to it's own sub category.

I would move the Top Sports Blogs and Sports Forums categories. And bump the Top Sports News up to the top, This is not essential but i think it would look better, Although its good already. The navigation bar where the forum link is, I really would put that as the second nav link, because thats where you want the most traffic and its suprizing how lazy many people are and that would be the first place they look and they would probally just click off. All in all a very nice looking site and it dosent really need changeing atall, But i really would change the forum link in the nav bar to second.
