This is a new site, so we don't have many members, but we do have a Halloween-themed skin and a bit of content up already.

A good idea for a forum wwwart but as you know there are lot of other art/graphics board out there in the internet you need to provide something really unique to win the competition.

First of all you need a domain and you can buy your domain through one of the domain registrars out there. check out www.seadots.com for more information!

Secondly You need activity and members , try to create yourself about 50 member accounts and do 10 posts with each account so you can impress the people out there so they can sign up and discuss.

The forum quantity is ok but if you can make it 3 or 4 for the moment until you have 1000+ posts it will be better.

Other then that everything is fine!

I'm not going to make a bunch of false accounts just to post a lot of useless posts so that my forum "looks active". I will let it take off on its own.

And I do offer something different. Not only is this site for writing and art, we also offer personal photo galleries and blogs for premium members.

Lastly, we are looking into a domain, but it's not top-priority at the moment.

ms510, my thoughts:

1) Drop that mainpage. It looks rather bad.
2) Get a new skin. One which is color rich, creative, and unique. If need be, pay for a custom coded one. Or download one from us.
3) Set some type of image size limit in the gallery/recent photos which is smaller.
4) Since art is broad, either focus your site on a very specific field, such a poetry, or get broader.
5) Since music is art, add some type of juke box.
6) Work on catagorization
7) Not sure what the system is for your writings, but a simple knowledge base, like that used on worldwidedvdforums.com is good.
8) Forget the "blog lounge". Install a real bog mod.
9) Consider an arcade. They always tend to up activity.
10) A points and store mod, with real items like art supplies might be worth considering.
11) Work on your banner.
12) Browse some phpBB mod sites and install those which seem potentially benificial and which could attract potential members.

Also, once you've finished constuction, or at least started the upgrade/correction process, consider using the forum incubator to help build your site.

I am working on something different for the main page, such as latest additions (artwork, writing, forum posts, etc). WWWArt is focused on writing and art, and I don't think I'm going to get any broader or more specific. I have installed many mods, but I am still working on more discreet ones.

The problem I've had with blog mods is that they don't have any permission features. Blogs at WWWArt are only available to premium members, so I need to be able to set that. If you know of a mod for phpBB that does this, please, let me know.

I think I am going to look into a different skin or create a new one. I'm not sure yet. The Halloween one isn't the best, but the default skin is much better. You won't be able to see it unless you're logged in though...

Having used it as a "user", I'm not too keen on it, atleast from a visual perspective. But for a free mod, its fairly well featured.
