Anyone using WowBB?

I have been running a WowBB for the better part of 3 years and started working for them part time almost 2 years ago now. I really liked the fresh approach to the coding (was a phpBB user and had experimented with vbull and invision and a couple other small ones)

I have seen a lot of negativity about WowBB on the internet and if anyone hasn't given it a chance because of that I can certainlly explain any rumor, where it came from and if it is actually true or not.

Jim

It's not free, and in all honesty, it looks really bad, so I don't think I'll try it.

OK Vbull isn't free, neither is invision any more. Several people write themes including myself to make it look much better.

Thank you for your opinion though, if you want to PM me I can give you a link to a good looking wowbb or a link to some theme previews. I'm not trying to sell the product I'm just trying to gather info on why such bad press when I'm convinced it is good.

It's just my opinion, but the general consensus is that Vbulletin is worth the price. Maybe the same is with WowBB, but by my ten-second analysis, I'd say it isn't

Definitely not worth paying $99 for it. Try something like SMF, its free and works great.

I tested SMF on my server and found it to be buggy, though it has been a few months. Weren't they YABB before? What kind of support do they provide for free? I remember well the phpBB support.

If I was a rookie I would agree with you but have you done a feature comparison or looked at bugs or hacking vaunerability? How about support? Is the world that quick to hang people based on what?

OK I'm getting clobbered in here, is anyone who is using it care to make a comment? I've been around the block a few times and I'm having a hard time believing that I'm stupid.

I have used em all and keep returning to vbulletin, while I havent used that one I have looked at it and I dont think I'd pay 99 bux for it, while I dont have any problem paying the 160 for vbulletin.. So I guess I wouldbt pay for it but if it was free i might give it a shot

I would never say that Wow is "better" than Vbull. Vbull is like the Audi A8 of forum software and WowBB is a Ford Fusion. The price and price of service is way different. I like Vbull and would use it in a heartbeat if Wow takes a turn for the worse.

I just would like to see it on someones list of software because it has some cool features. Orders have been steady and increasing, it can't be all that bad. I know it isn't that bad or I would have moved on.
