I've, along with other members have had some grudge against the XennoBB project, primarily against their team project manager, along with stolen code. Well, I come to their homepage to the delight of this message.

The XennoBB project is taking a new start. A clean start. A rebirth.

The goals of this "rebirth" are quite simple, they are to clean XennoBB's name, clean its reputation, clean it's code, stop all the drama around XennoBB so we can concentrate on support and development... Basically the main goal is t do everything right.
I will explain in details below all the aspects that are going to be affected during this "rebirth".

II. Domain name, community and support.

The XennoBB support and development has been moved to xennobb.org.
.com are for commercial purpose and xennobb is not and will never be a commercial, the .org will assure that to anyone (I've been reported that some thought we were thinking of going commercial in the future, it's not the case at all)

The all community structure is going to be changed, also all membership and the rest will still be valid. The community will go down, maybe for up to 24 hrs, so we can take our time and set up everything properly.


III. Code, credits, documentation and version.

The XennoBB code is going to be re-written so it end up being 100% developed by XennoBB developers. Not more using lines from punBB, Puntal, myBB and the rest. A complete documentation is going to be done and available on line and it will get updated on a regular basis.

Every developers out there that have been taken some lines of code from their BB, portal, module or else and that have not been credited properly in the XennoBB source code is welcome to come forward and let us know. We will add credits needed and do everything right. We no longer want a fight around XennoBB, we want to d everything right.

The version history will also be affected by the rebirth and will be reset to 0. In the past XennoBB change version much more than it was suppose to and at the moment it is a complete mess. So as everything will be redone we will reset that too and start with XennoBB 0.1 and work our way up as it should be stopping any confusion in the future.

IV. XennoBB Team.

The XennoBB Team will be dissolved and rebuild completely. It doesn't mean that members of the current team are getting sacked, far from it, it is just because it allow us to re-create group and re-organise the team.

XennoBB is also look for new PHP developers to come and join our team. Must be hard worker as a lot of work is coming. Please let us know by contacting us in the community.

Translators and Theme makers we will also make sure you guys are updated with all the information you need to keep your translation and theme packages up to date.


V. Conclusion.

Ok, I know some of you are going to wonder what we are up about here, but for everyone that have followed a bit XennoBB history you will understand why this is necessary even if it is a huge change.

For all the people who have problems with XennoBB in the past, I just want to make sure that this time around it is about making everything the right way. If anyone has any complain or know anything that still need to be corrected, please contact us, you will not get banned on site like it was done in the past. The new XennoBB team is open to discussion and want to discuss in polite ways and sort out any issues there is.

Looks like a nice clean peice of software wonder if they can cope with the other big BB forums?

There has really been a lot of controversy and a lot of shady stuff behind XennoBB and its developers. The previous head developer had made his way over to AF not too long ago and really made a bad name for himself.

I never like to see this kind of stuff going on because it doesn't benefit anybody, so this is a good sign...Hopefully they can start turning everything around

Yes we have started the Rebirth project already. I am one of the developers, and we have started the roots of the project. If you look around the new website... http://www.xennobb.org , yes the software is same, for now, until we develope the first version of the new software. There are many places in the forum where it is mentioned that we will not be copying any code what so ever from anywhere, it will all be coded by the developers themselves.

We hope to clear the name of XennoBB by launching a fresh, modern, professional and obviously very secure forum software. If anyone is interested in joining the project just head over to the site and PM nmm... hoep to see you test the new XennoBB in the coming months

The functionality will probably be the same if not better, but everything is being written by the developers ground up. The first testing version hasw no set date yet, but we hope to have it up within 2-3 months. There will probably be more features as compared to the current version.

The .com domain was removed to precent any confusion between the two softwares. Since the rebirth, we are using the .org..
