![]() | Hey all, I've been working on wForum for a little while, mostly on and off tho. Anyway I thought I'd show you all a sneak peak of what I've got so far. Check it out at Backpacker Forums | Sharing advice, adventures and the occasional beer Now there are still a whole heap of features that need working on, and some that aren't even there, but so far its pretty good and stable. Tech wise its ASP.NET 2.0 / C# / MSSQL 2005 Let me know what you think. Matt

![]() | Fair enough mate, not really the design that I'm worried about. What I meant by working on wForum is that its a brand new forum software package I've coded and created from scratch

What's your motivation for this project? It's going to be extremely hard to compete with all of the heavy hitters out there. There are a lot of very popular forum packages out there already and 10 times as many startups that never really got anywhere. Very competitive arena.

![]() | Hey guys, Yeah I just grabbed the first phpbb theme I could find and threw it up. the design could basically be anything. I've got a friend at work who is going to help be make the design completely CSS so it can be easily themed and controlled. The reason I built it was that I couldn't find any free forum software in ASP.NET. Most cost money and are packed with features I just didn't require. My goal is not to create something overtly complex but rather something that has a decent feature set, is fast and rock solid stable. Its still in its infancy but I think the future is bright
