And we've pretty much debunked the "model gf" http://www.mdstreetscene.com/bs/A-pi...sa_proof1a.JPG So what went wrong here? 1. Stole a pic from CarDomain and pretended it's his car 2. His excuse for only 2 pictures was he dropped his phone/camera in the toilet but was still able to retrieve ONE picture 3. Stole a pic from CarDomain (again) and pretended it's his girlfriend's house in Malibu, CA 4. Stole pics from some model and pretended she was his girlfriend 5. Created a Facebook account for a fake "fiancé" 6. Fabricated conversations on Facebook with a fake girlfriend (complete with CUTIE, HOTI11EE, etc) 7. Apparently has fake AIM logons for his fake girlfriend and carries on fake conversations 8. Posted it on a LOCAL message board whose members he has met The internet is a crazy thing... ![]() | Tuesday night is when it all started... We had 56 guests viewing that one thread, and we thought it was amazing. Through the night more and more came. The forum was hosted on a VPS w/ 1&1. By early morning (3am) the server started using 99% of its resources. Granted, it was a bottom of the line VPS solution. By the morning, the server crashed every 15 minutes with 150+ users hitting the same thread at once. As soon as we would get in to the CP to restart the server, 100+ people would be on the forums within seconds. By 9:30AM, it just couldn't handle it anymore. I spent a good while just getting access to the server to dump the database and forum files in order to move it to a local server for the time being. Back track, earlier that morning, around 2am, I signed up with a new web host. I had been in contact with them for several weeks in preparation for eventually transferring my service to them. At around noon, the hosting company got back to me and we started to move the site and forums over to the new host. I tell you, the service these guys (well guy) performed for me was amazing. It took a while to finalize all the move.. but it was seamless. We chatted in real time on MSN messenger throughout the entire process -- he answered all my questions and was extremely polite and helpful. Anyway, the forums have been running flawlessly on the new system! 600+ people hitting the forums all day... As silly as the reason for all the hits/traffic, it is also beneficial. We've received dozens of new members from our local area that had never heard of our site. (BTW, the site is a car forum for Maryland car enthusiasts.) We have visitors coming from all over the United States and the world (UK, Australia, Malaysia) and posting. Thought, as fellow admins, you'd appreciate a story like this. P.S. -- Our new webhost is AirBorneFive. "Jon" was the one who helped me throughout the process and in the weeks leading up to the switch. I'll make a proper dedicated review thread for them soon.

| Member | Hey Jason, I'm posting on behalf of Jon since he's not available at the moment .We both appreciate the mini-review and we're glad we were able to assist you with the move as well as getting your website back up, running and under control. We had been monitoring the bandwidth and the server since we started receiving notice of the server really being hit with the traffic. The moment we received notice that you had hit your bandwidth limit, we went ahead and took care of it for you so you're website would not experience any downtime. The server load really wasn't even effected with the traffic you were sending as most of the thread data was instantly cached by vBulletin and then stored with xCache. The server load hit above 1.5 at one point, though dropped back down almost instantly. I will admit, I am in love with the Core2Duo CPU's . They handle really well and effectively disperse loads when it comes to getting hit with mass traffic in a short period of time.Above and beyond all, we're just glad to see that we were able to provide you with a stable environment for the incoming traffic and for your website. I believe Jon was in the process of working with you, so be sure to give him a shout here soon! Thanks again and we're looking forward to the official review .
