I mean, how many people do you know who spend most of their time on forums -- be it yours other other people's. I have read about forum addiction on some blogs but there doesn't seem to be any factual information on it. Any thoughts? Torsten

| could be addiction or just a habbit on going to a certain forum. i made my forum for a community to talk abot games and other stuff like that and now its got some features and is growing. after i gain these experiances ill make another. so it could be addiction for me.  | ||||

| Openmind, Are you referring to members, or owners? As a member, I have been 'modeming' since the BBS days. It's a staple in my life. I don't consider forums an addiction more than breathing.

| Yes, 9600 baud was my first modem. I had AOL back then.. 5 cents a minute when you went over the 3 hours a month. Sheesh, Did I have huge bills! I love playing LORD on bbses.. I even became a SysOp for a year. Ran renegade. Bulletin Boards are the grandaddy of today's Forums. They're great!

| I'd say I'm more likely to be addicted to my computer than to forums as I use the computer for other things as well. However, if I am addicted to forums, I would think it's a healthy addiction. I mean think about it, where else can you have discussions about any topic whatsoever and be able to speak with people all over the world? Yeah, I know there are chat rooms and other scripts for this but a forum is more dynamic in my opinion.

| I definitely have forum addiction  But yes, I do think it's real. I know that I visit several forums everyday that aren't work related.. I feel I am missing something if I dont visit them. And THATS how you want to get people to feel about your forum
